THE BEAUTY OF A TREE

“Jesus Took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then, spitting on the man’s eyes, he laid his hands on him and asked, “Can you see anything now?” The man looked around and, “Yes” he said, “I see people, but I can’t see them clearly. They look like trees walking around.” Mark 8:23-24 (NLT)

As I sit and reflect upon the the tree I realized lots of things…

That in a Christian life…

There are some trees that are fully grown and deeply rooted on the ground. Some trees are bearing much fruit, some may not. Some trees that on its autumn season and some trees are on its spring. Despite of different kind of situations, there is still beauty of a tree.

Trees that are fully grown and deeply rooted on the ground, as a person who accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord, they must continue to follow him. It was written in Colossians 2:7 that “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him.” As time goes by, they are Christians who are grown up and deeply founded in Jesus. They may be the ones who are years already, in knowing Jesus. They persevere to do the work of the LORD.

Trees that are bearing much fruit, they are the Christians who are in their season of fruitfulness that their lives are often living testimony of how God can be so gracious to their lives. They maybe also the ones by which wholeheartedly obeying the LORD and because of that, they are reaping a harvest of blessings and fruits. Two fruits that they must be bearing, the fruit of the Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control and the other fruit are people/disciples for they are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.

But still there are trees that some may not be fruitful, they are Christians by which we can say fruitless maybe because it was not yet their time to be fruitful because God is still processing them or maybe there still hindrances for them to be fruitful it can be the sins or sinful lives, motive of the heart, attitude, character, etc.

“A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited for years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’

If a tree does not produce good fruit it can be chopped down and thrown into the fire. And because of that fire there can be season of

Trees that on its autumn season, they are those Christians that is on a refining moment, a testing of faith or having hard time with the afflictions of life here on earth. They felt everything in them seems to be gone. A tragedy in family, financially lacking, health is failing, loss of loved ones, friends and possessions, etc. Or the worst they are on the season of reaping the consequences of what they’ve done.

But through the help of the Holy Spirit, the prayers and rebukes of loved ones, they come back to their realizations and they are now the

Trees that are on its spring, and going back to the story Jesus had told, “The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.” that after everything that has happened to them, they are the Christians who are little by little blooms again and embracing their new beginnings with Christ as they have been given another chance. For God is a God of lots of chances. They’ve fully accepted God’s disciplines in their lives, triumph on different kinds of problems, and repented to God.

In order for a tree to grow, it must be living. As well as Christians, if a Christian stopped living, they also stop growing.

Christians also don’t know what twist God will do to them along the way, but like those trees there is still hope for all of those who believe in him.

And for us to appreciate the beauty of the tree we must always see it.

“If you feel like you’re losing everything, remember trees lose their leaves every year and they still stand tall and wait for better days to come.”
-unknown-

To God Be All the Glory!
